Our 5 Best Stay At-Home Date Ideas
Why let someone else set the scene for the perfect date when you can do it
yourself at home? Read on for some great stay at-home date ideas.
1. MOVIE OR NETFLIX MARATHON
Get good and close on the couch for a few hours with a movie marathon… Good or bad, it doesn’t really matter. Mutual likes and dislikes are just as effective for helping people develop feelings for each other. To help out we’ve compiled a list of some of our favorite streamables here. Just don’t hit your date in the nose as you try to sneak an arm around them.
2. COOK TOGETHER
Pick a cuisine and cook a three course meal together. Be adventurous and try something neither of you have eaten before like a Malaysian style Laksa, or keep it classic with a spaghetti carbonara. Uncork a bottle of wine and get busy.
3. SPIRIT TASTER EVENING
Wine, Gin, Whiskey. We’ve all had a crack at the cheap stuff, so why not dedicate an evening to sampling some more interesting variations of your favorite alcohol? You could even take it a step further and sample obscure liquors from around the world. Romanian Țuică, Bolivian Singani and Italian Grappa to get you started. Try and identify the notes and flavors, or just drink. It’s up to you.
4. MAKESHIFT MIXOLOGY LESSON
If you’re sporting lint and hate bars then channel your inner Tom Cruise and use some of that leftover alcohol from your spirit taster session to study the art of mixology. Make the perfect Whiskey Sour or try your hand at what is basically a dessert masquerading as a cocktail. Get a classy kind of drunk. Bow-Tie optional.
5. VIDEO GAME NIGHT
Some people have figured out that staying up until 3 in the morning playing Mario Kart in your pajamas is everything you need. Now’s the time to play the first person RPG known as dating and invite someone around to join you. Do they love a good story? Start a game of Final Fantasy VII. Sports fan? Have a round on Fifa 16. Loser has to pay for the pizza you’re definitely going to end up ordering.
